F.A.Q

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What is a drone light show?

A drone light show consists of multiple drones fitted with bright LED lights. These create pictures and patterns in the sky.

These could be logos, text, 2D&3D shapes, objects and animations - the possibilities are endless!

  • How much does a drone show cost?

Unfortunately, due to the many factors involved with carrying out a drone show, there is not a one-size-fits-all pricelist.

Location is the main factor; this decides the maximum area available.

This in turn determines the maximum number of drones.

We can then advise of the options available to you and provide you with costing details.

  • How can I book a drone show?

If you would like more information, or to make a booking, please fill in the form here

For custom shows, ideally, we would have 3 months' notice prior to the event. Shows can be produced at shorter notice however we recommend additional time as it allows the Swarmation team to create the best experience we can offer.

  • What type of drones do you use ?

We use a variety of drones depending on the show requirements.

Either our own Swarmtech built drones, or our fleet of customised drones direct from a manufacturer.

  • What do you need to create a show ?

In order for us to help create your show, we would ideally need the following  :

    * Location

    * Date

    * Preferred number of drones required - our Swarmation team can help advise you if required.

Further information can be found here

  • How much time do you need to prepare a show ?

For larger custom shows we would need three months to create the show.

This allows us time to design and test the performance ensuring the perfect show.

  • How do we make sure our system is safe?

We have multiple backups in place within the system and all staff are trained for emergency situations.

One of the safety features is a geofence that completely surrounds our flight area.

This is an invisible barrier that stops any drones leaving our area.

Further information can be found here

  • Where can you perform a show ?

We perform outside and usually our shows can perform at a maximum height of 300ft. All sites are checked to ensure the area and airspace is sufficient to carry out our show prior to booking.

  • How many drones can you use in a show?

This is usually determined by the available space and size of the show. Our system is actually capable of up to over 3400+ drones as recently displayed in the world record drone light show over Shanghai in the form of a QR code, however on average we use between 20-200.

  • How long can the drones fly for?

Our drones can fly up to 25mins.

We can also launch separate groups of drones at intervals to give the appearance of non-stop flight.

  • What’s the charging time ?

Batteries will arrive to site charged and ready prior to the show.

On average each battery will take 45 minutes to fully charge.

  • What about authorisations and drone policies?

Swarmtech Drones Ltd has full permissions from the CAA to carry out swarming flights in the UK.

Our CAA operating reference is: UAS8184.

All locations are subject to a site survey to ensure any airspace requirements are fulfilled prior to any show.

  • How does weather affect performances ?

Our drones can fly in wind and withstand light rain.

We constantly monitor multiple weather reports on the days leading up to a show to ensure we can carry out the mission as intended.

More information about our drones can be found here.
